An Overview of the End User Computing Market Vendor Landscape for Enterprise Users
In this paper, Taneja Group presents an evaluation of the end user computing (EUC) market vendor landscape for enterprise customers. Our objective is to evaluate enterprise EUC (including business mobility) offerings from leading vendors, to enable senior business and technology leaders to decide which vendors in the market offer the best overall solution.
In the study, we evaluated three of the leading EUC solution vendors (VMware, Citrix, Microsoft) and two leading desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) solution providers (VMware, Amazon). We scored the EUC solution vendors based on evaluation criteria across nine categories and the DaaS providers based on evaluation criteria across five categories. All companies were required to have solutions in one or more categories that were generally available as of April 2015. To assess the offerings, we looked at a set of differentiating factors in each of the categories that we believe enterprise customers should use to qualify EUC solutions and services. As a final step, we reviewed the vendors’ solutions, services and overall EUC strategies and explored how competitive solutions compare.
